侏儸紀公園(Film)影響了我兩件事，一是麥可克萊頓，一是約翰威廉斯；麥可克萊頓領我進入九零年代美國暢銷小說的輝煌時期，約翰威廉斯領我進入電影配樂的美妙世界。
而好巧不巧的，約翰威廉斯又是電影配樂界最富盛名與影響力的大師，在電影配樂界中約翰威廉斯稱第二，沒人敢稱第一。
侏儸紀公園的配樂最早我是買錄音帶版本，這個版本不是很好，限於錄音帶需要換面的問題，曲目安排不是很理想，印象中曲目收錄也跟CD版不同，後來因為磁帶長久使用導致品質衰減，以及可聽錄音帶的設備越來越少，所以錄音帶版本就扔了。
在很多年之後，我才再度購入CD版本，不得不說CD版本真的是很棒，電影中使用的配樂幾乎都收錄到了，而且編排方式符合電影的順序，是極佳的電影配樂。
最近又從農場找到兩個不一樣的版本，一個是Promo Score，一個是Complete Score；
這個版本的來源我不是很清楚，Google上也查不到什麼資料，這個版本收錄了一些原版配樂沒有的音樂段落，部分是與原版的稍有差異而已。

DISC 1: Is a complete film edit of the score as heard within the film with all edits and tracked music.
DISC 2: Is a supplemental disc containing all kinds of extras from concert arrangements of themes from the film, dinosaur sound library, and original trailer audio/music.
DISC 3: Presents the score as complete as possible. This preserves the scores clean intros and endings as it had been recorded along with original title names and slate numbers.
如上所述，Disc 1的內容來自於電影中所使用的配樂，只要是能聽得到的配樂都有收錄。
而Disc 2則是補完性質的的收錄，主要收錄了各式各樣的額外內容，從電影主題演奏版本到恐龍音效庫，以及原版預告片的音樂音效等等。
Disc 3與Disc 1的內容就很相近，Disc 3主要是儘可能的表現出完整的配樂內容，並保存配樂的從頭至尾的完整性，就如它當初被錄下時的原本的名稱以及編排順序。這是用來與Disc 1對照用的版本，一個是實際在電影裡面可以聽到的，一個是錄音時記錄下的(註)。
(註)：一般來說，配樂家雖然依著電影內容完成配樂(JW向來不看劇本，只看實際完成的影片)，但是配樂家拿到的影片很少是最後完成的真正版本，通常是很接近的版本，更糟的還有只拿到部分需要配樂的片段或是最初剪輯出來的版本而已。所以配樂家雖然完成了音樂，但電影卻尚未完成，而配樂家交出的配樂最終則是由混音師統合處理，因此就會有原本有交給配樂家製作的配樂片段最後沒用，或是原本預定使用配樂的段落被剪短，配樂也相應被修改等等狀況。這就造成了所謂的Recording Sessions與Film Score兩種版本的差異。另外還有一些是配樂家已製作但最後未使用的配樂或不同的演奏版本(Alternate Version)。

當然，我還是希望約翰威廉斯能發行官方版本的完整版配樂傳世，如同霍華蕭的魔戒完整版一樣。話說，自我收了魔戒完整版之後，一般版的配樂已經無法吸引我了，我不管再重聽幾遍魔戒，我都不會去選擇一般版，我寧願花三、四個小時去聽完整版，也不想回頭再聽一般版了。
